It's Friday, which means it's time for another "peek behind the mask" here at your co-op! Meet Phil. He is our new Bulk Assistant Manager! He’s been with us for about 6.5 years and was a Bulk Associate before starting his new position. There have been a lot of adjustments and added responsibilities this year as his new position coincided with the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Between price checks, verifying margins, adjusting Bulk signage, and cleaning the department, he’s... done an amazing job of keeping up with the constant changes. Phil is also known for going above and beyond to provide outstanding customer service! We’re really lucky to have him on staff. Phil’s super devoted to the beautiful family he shares a home with in Albany. And his family extends beyond the walls of his homehe still regularly sees an elderly couple he used to live near, pitching in to help them out anytime they need assistance. Basically, he’s the kind of guy to drive across town to change a lightbulb for someone! (Pretty amazing!) Something you might not know about him is that Phil is a talented, licensed contractor with a long list of people who call him for jobs again and again. And he loves to roller skate! Finding time for either has been challenging since taking his new position. As someone who hails from Brooklyn, he really misses the ability to travel by visiting other neighborhoods a simple walk would take him from China to Italy to Greece all in one day! Although they couldn’t get away this year, his family regularly packs up their minivan and takes extended road trips that create some incredible memories.
