Lilac City Tournament 01.12.2020

**CORONA VIRUS UPDATE** 3/18/20 Bowlers, We have been getting many requests for an update due to the Covid-19 situation. To be honest, trying to forecast anything with so many unknowns is virtually impossible. I’d have better luck pulling a rabbit out of my hatand that trick never works. (Old reference in case you younger people didn’t get it!)... Right now in New York they have mandated closings of all Restaurants, Bars, Gyms etc. and are suggesting all non-essential businesses to do the same. (Just reported that this now extends to amusement parks, bowling centers and shopping malls) No gathering of 50 people or more, and suggestions of no more than 10. This is in force until further notice. Many businesses have announced closing until the end of March, yet I personally feel this may get extended. What does that mean for us? Possibly a late start, possibly an extension, possibly a complete cancellation should things escalate instead of getting better. I know this leaves things in the air for everyone but until we know what possible restrictions will be enforced, there is no way to make a clear and definite decision. We want to run as we are scheduled through June, and have been in contact with the USBC on what options are open to us. As soon as I have information to share, I will. One issue we are dealing with now. Our office is located inside AMF Gates Lanes with no outside entrance. AMF has closed its centers, in Rochester at least, until April 1st. Their corporate policy prohibits anyone from being inside the building unless there is an AMF employee onsite. Bottom line, we cannot get into our office. If you need to contact us, please do so by email at [email protected]. We will be dealing with things as quickly as possible. Please take care of each other, reach out to those in need, and stay healthy! Ray-

**CORONA VIRUS UPDATE** Due to the many calls and emails we are receiving regarding the Corona Virus situation, I wanted to update everyone on how we are handling things. While we share everyone’s concern and will respect the decision of those who may choose not to bowl due to this, unless there is a statewide or national restriction which prohibits us from running the event, all will proceed as scheduled. There are just too many uncertainties and unknowns surrounding this to... make a decision to cancel while we are still a month out. We do caution those most at risk due to age or existing condition as outlined by the CDC and encourage everyone to exercise common sense precautions during this event. Yes! Wash your hands! With regards to those who have made reservations and/or deposits. We have never charged or kept funds from anyone that did not bowl, regardless of the reason. Any fees that are paid and not used will be returned in full, whether due to absence, cancelation, or should we be required to cancel any squads. We do ask that anyone who has made reservations to provide us with a valid email address and phone number so that we can contact you should the need arise. Please email this information to us at [email protected]. The impact of the virus is varied across the country. Here in Monroe County there has only been one case, and that person had just returned here from overseas, reported to a hospital, and was contained. We are hoping with the media attention and the diligence of the public and businesses that have acted responsibly to maintain a high level of sanitation, this threat will diminish as time goes on. Wishing you and your families the best of health until this epidemic is a memory.

LILAC BOWLERS! All Prize checks are in the mail as of Wednesday evening. Some of you may receive yours today! My sincere thanks to Bonnie and Sandy for all the hard work involved in getting things ready, printed, stuffed in envelopes and to the Post Office! Yes, they are amazing! I’m working on getting the complete Prize List done and converted for our website. These will be uploaded and you will be notified once it goes live. In the meantime, I have uploaded a file with 1st ...Place scores as well as Low-to-Cash scores on our website at www.lilactour.com. Navigate to Tournament Highlights or copy and paste https://www.lilactour.com/tournament-highlights.php into your browser. I apologize for the quality but I uploaded a file created from a Word.doc and that’s the best I could do at this time. (Should have spent more time in the Computer lab instead of auto shop!) Just a reminder that you will receive one check for all of your winnings. Details of what comprises the total is on the check stub. All prizes are paid to each individual bowler so if a team won $500, each bowler gets their share of $100. Same holds true for Doubles. Note as well that all large checks have been sent out Certified and must be signed for. Please allow some time for the checks to get to you. We know everyone is anxious but if something is wrong, address or otherwise, we won’t know about it until it gets returned, which doesn’t always happen quickly! On behalf of our entire staff I would like to thank you all again for your patronage and your patience during our verification process. We also pass along our Congratulations to all of the winners in our 51st Lilac City Tournament!! Wishing you all the best, a safe and enjoyable Columbus Day weekend, and until the next post, take care! Ray-
