Peru Update: Saturday (August 17) - We left Huancayo this morning after saying goodbye to Amador and Hilda and landed in Lima early afternoon. We picked up some of our bags on the way to the SIL office where the entire crew proceeded to help in innumerable ways to disassemble, unpack, stuff, and repack most of our earthly goods into 14 suitcases. Wow! What a team! What servants! We went to dinner at a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Tomorrow we will go to church then wander around town before heading to the airport for our flights back to NY. See you soon!

Peru Update: Wed-Thurs-Friday (August 14-16) We got Steve back Wed morning then took an 8 hour bus ride on dusty, curvy mountain roads to the village of San Ignacio. The people were blessed that we went all that way to minister to them. They listened intently to our discussions about family relationships and they followed along in their Quechua Scriptures when we acted out the story of Joseph. Hilda (from AMWAN) used one of the Big Books we had made to teach the kids, and our young people played games with them. We were received very warmly with typical Quechua hospitality. It was a very memorable trip! Tomorrow we fly back to Lima.

Peru Update (August 13): Tuesday- up early for flight to Huancayo. Everyone feeling better. We have done taxi relay and stuffed ourselves into busses! Enjoyed a yummy trout lunch at AMWAN office then heard powerful testimonies of 2 AMWAN members. Two of our team members held a teacher training while the rest of us worked on making Big Books for literacy and VBS use. Went to a church service where we sang, Pastor Mark shared a message, and Julia shared a testimony. We are delighted that our team will be complete again tomorrow morning! Steve arrives just in time to join us for a 7 hour bus ride to a village. We will be sharing messages, testimonies, and skits there. We will be off the grid until Friday evening, so no updates again until then!

Peru Update (August 12): Monday - No pics to share today as we were on a bus traveling to Lima all day. Tomorrow (Tuesday)we head out early (4:30 am) to fly to Huancayo and the second part of our adventure. Please pray: Steve’s passport was lost and he will stay behind to work on getting a new one. Pray all will go smoothly and quickly for him to join us Wednesday. A few are feeling not so well. Pray for stamina and health.
