Hi Everyone we are still here working from home. Working on all the digital aspects of One Woman War and Not-Knowing. So there is a lot to do. It looks like we are again moving toward a very hard time for small businesses, non profits and independent artists and studios. We need to speak up for ourselves and not let disaster capitalism as usual take us out. Please talk to your institutional funders and ask them to work with us this time instead of looking at it as a Darwinia...n opportunity to "cut the wheat from the chaff." Silly corporatist, MBA nonsense like "viability" and "resiliance" criteria are completely inappropriate in a situation this profoundly devastating. We need to work together and share the pain this time and do what we can to keep the arts alive and preserve our culture because of its intangible value not just because it's an economic engine. The arts can be a leader in helping us come back to ourselves safely and sanely. 3LD is looking at interim immersive audience configuration modeling and detailed affordable remote collaboration tools and methods as we continue to do the most important thing we can do to survive this disaster: make new art. Most of us have had all of our revenue generating projects cancelled. We all need to start preparing to help each other with the hard reboot that will be necessary.

We are continuing work on our current artistic projects Not Knowing and One Woman War digitally and collaborating online. We are very concerned that patterns we have seen in past disaster recovery efforts will repeat themselves and do more damage to small businesses and not for profits. Currently art organizations like ours who do not already receive City or State funding are being cut out of private foundation assistance and the only help being offered are Small Business As...sociation loans. The last thing a small business, for profit or non profit, needs during or after a disaster is more debt. Like most arts and culture groups and individual artists, all of our commissions and revenue generating projects have been indefinitely delayed or cancelled. But money is not what motivates our work so we will continue as we did on 9/11, during Hurricane Sandy and during the 08-14 recession to make art and to try to find opportunity, connection and collaboration in adversity. Please stay home and stay safe and healthy and we'll see you online soon.

Carol Dysinger (right) Continues to be Recognized for Her Important Work Empowering Women and Girls Living in War Zones in Afghanistan We congratulate her on her first Oscar win! Her work on the film was also recognized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts where it won best British Short Film last Sunday. 3-Legged Dog sends all its best wishes to our collaborator as her film gains the international recognition it deserves. We're itching to return to our collaboration with Carol on the creation of an immersive performance and expanded cinema work called One Woman War based on Carol’s 16 years of work as a documentarian of life in war zones in Afghanistan.

3-Legged Dog is a platform for exploration and critical questioning. We explore urgent human issues with our audiences and artists. Help us continue to develop an artistic practice that moves hearts and minds like James Scruggs' 3/Fifths: Supremacy Land. To interrogate the history of American racism, the 10,000 square feet of the 3LD Art & Technology Center was turned into a dystopian theme park called Supremacy Land. Conceived and Written by James Scruggs... Directed by Tamilla Woodard & Kareem Fahmy Photo & Video by Skye Morse Hodgson Support 3LD's commitment to creating urgent and challenging art by donating to our fundraiser https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/support-3ld

Du Yun's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Angel's Bone" co-produced by 3-Legged Dog, HERE Arts Center and Beth Morrison Projects for the 2016 Prototype Festival premiered at the 3LD Arts & Technology Center in January of 2016. With its array of performance, technical and musical elements, the opera about two fallen angels served as a devastating allegory about human trafficking. Take part in our #6DaysTo6k campaign today! At the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and the Frankfurt B3 Biennial, 3LD presented "analmosh", a computer-generated audio/visual masterwork by Matt Romein, and Peter Burr's "Dirtscraper" a simulation of "smart architecture" as imagined by artificial intelligence. Both examples of 3LD's cutting-edge productions. Join our #6DaysTo6k fundraiser to support our upcoming projects. Rewards available for donations $10 and above.
