I’m so energized to assume an executive leadership role at an Equity house as the industry prepares for a most exceptional second act. Inclusion, expansion, community, and experimentation are all going to play major parts in Rep’s post-COVID return. We want to be Savannah’s Paper Mill Playhouse, its Alliance Theatre, its Guthrie. That being said, here’s some real talk: If we sell every ticket to every performance at full price, it just barely covers the commitment we have mad...e to paying above-minimum salaries and benefits to our actors. The overhead, the staff, the production design, the director fees - it all comes from patrons and sponsors.
