The right candidate must have a strong commitment to helping improve the lives of persons with developmental disabiliti...es; assisting them to improve their adaptive life skills in the home or community setting, and having obtained a higher degree of learning. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: -Work closely with individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities in a home and community setting. -Promote language development with individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. -Contemporaneously document daily progress. -Collect, record, and summarize data on observable individual behavior -Utilize behavioral analysis methods to assist individuals in acquiring new skills while helping to enhance existing skills. -Effectively communicate with the program director -Collaborate with the individual’s treatment team -Assist in the development and implementation of person centered goals to maintain and enhance the optimum skill level of each individual. Ensure that these goals contribute to wellness, independence, individuality, productivity, and community inclusion. -Attend semi-annual and annual review meetings. -Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending required training. The successful candidate will hold the following certifications and possess the following abilities: -at least 1 year experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities -High school diploma- bachelors degree preferred. -Driver's License & own vehicle -Ability to pass a background check. -Basic understanding of Task Analysis and how it is used in the development of the goals/objectives of the individuals being served. - Basic understanding of positive behavioral techniques.
