Afrolatin@ Forum 02.04.2021

The afrolatin@ forum is organizing a celebration of Miriam’s life on Oct. 11, 2020 from 4-6pm (and beyond for those who would like to stay for an after-program sharing). We are hoping to recreate some of the ambiance that many of us experienced with Miriam, in honor of her larger-than-life spirit, her love of good food, and passion for great conversation. It's a Konbit/Convite/Ventetú/Junte/Potluck, and we’ll be centering food, dialog, drink, and plenty of good cheer. To attend the event, please visit: www.afrolatinoforum.org and register there to get the exclusive link. The event will also be broadcast via Facebook Live. If you have any questions, please message us!

LALIFF is proud to launch the LALIFF Inclusion Fellowship Series. This newly established program will focus on building a more inclusive and equitable industry for all members of the Latinx community. For its inaugural year, Netflix is sponsoring the program for five visionary directors who identify as Afro Latino to create a short film that will have its world premiere at LALIFF 2021. Each filmmaker will receive mentorship with industry leaders, a $20,000 production grant and a world premiere of their film at LALIFF 2021. Submissions are now open and the deadline is October 14, 2020. Visit https://latinofilm.org/fellowship/ to apply!
