July 29th the Grit Series will be making a stop at A.M.P. The grit Sportsman will be running for $1000.00 to win and $100.00 to take the green .The 600 Modifie...ds will be racing for $300.00 to win and $50.00 to take the green and the Factory Stocks will return for the first time in many years. They will be racing for $500.00 to win and$80.00 to take the green. Looking forward to a great night of racing in this very messed up year. Pits $35.00 sorry no grandstands. Thank You to everyone that came out Friday. We had some of the best racing you will see any where. 5 or 6 different leaders in the modifieds a photo finish in t...he opens and 2 brothers racing side by side in the Street Stocks . Thats the good news the bad news is with no fans we lost money. I can't do that every week. We will not be racing this week. I will be working on some things in the near future to try and get us racing again. Help support Afton Motorsports Park this Friday July 3rd. With the daily changes and challenges in the world today and especially Chenango County, the race trac...k and racers could use all the support possible. To pay race purses, track help, concession food bills, Insurance, maintenance the list goes on and on for expenses. However, there are limited resources for income and spectators would be #1. Without fans in the stands it is nearly impossible to operate a race track, unless someone involved has very deep pockets. So I am asking or even challenging everyone to step up and help any way possible. I will start by adding $100 to the purse money to help pay our dedicated racers. Anyone who would like to join me, please see me at driver check-in between 4 & 6. You can elect to donate to a specific division, finishing position or just a general donation. Afton Motorsports Park received a call this morning from Chenango County Health Department stating they are not allowed to have spectators at the race on July 3 even though there is an order dated 6/26/2020 against Andrew Cuomo that states "Conclusion WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, it is hereby ORDERED that plaintiffs’ (application for a preliminary injunction (Dkts. No. 2, 7) is GRANTED; and it is further ORDERED that defendants are ENJOINED and RESTRAINED as follows...: (1) from enforcing any indoor gathering limitations against plaintiffs 37 Case 1:20-cv-00651-GLS-DJS Document 35 Filed 06/26/20 Page 37 of 38 greater than imposed for Phase 2 industries, provided that plaintiffs follow social distancing requirements as set forth in the applicable executive orders and guidance; and (2) from enforcing any limitation for outdoor gatherings provided that participants in such gatherings follow social distancing requirements as set forth in the applicable executive orders and guidance" . After many calls and reaching out to U.S. Congressman Anthony Brindisi and Empire State Development we are at a standstill. Chenango County Health Department has stated they will not issue any permits and contacted the Village of Afton who now because of a call from Chenango County Health Department will not issue the village permit. Chenango County Health Department stated if there are spectators at the July 3 race Ronnie risks the chance of not ever getting permits to run a race in the future at Afton Motorsports Park

Are you ready to hear the roaring of the race cars at Afton Motorsports Park? We are and it's time... Due to the June 26, 2020 ruling of U.S. District Judge Gar...y L.Sharpe Afton Motorsports Park will start it's racing season on July 3 at 7:00 PM. We will be running four divisions as follows: Modifieds, Crate Sportsmans, Open Sportmans and Street Stock. Modifieds feature will be 40 laps with $2500 to win and $200 to take the green. Full Velocity Racing Network has stepped up with a $150 bonus to make the Crate Sportsmans $800 to win. If anyone would like to sponsor their favorite division to increase the purse please contact Ronnie Ford. Then to end the great night of racing with a bang there will be a great fireworks display by American Fireworks from Oxford. We will have to social distance and everyone will have to wear masks. Please adhere to these restrictions so we can continue to race at Afton Motorsports Park. Pit admission is $35. Grandstand admission is adults 15 and over is $12, youth 9-14 is $5 and 8 and under is free. We have all been waiting for this day so hope to see you there. See more

Again are jackass govener has put a hold on our race season. Our July 3rd start date is not going to happen. We will keep up dating but his new date to open state is July 26 . Sorry for this news but my hands are tied.
