We got a tour of the new Maple Avenue Apartments in Elmira today, an affordable housing complex for seniors and people with intellectual and developmental disab...ilities. Contractors are still putting on some finishing touches and there's still some landscaping to be done, but they look great and residents are expected to begin moving in soon. The developer is CDS Housing of the Rochester area, and AIM is a local partner. Ten of the apartments will be reserved for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and AIM will provide support services on site. Those interested in applying for these units should contact AIM's Amber Mulhollen at (607) 962-8225, ext. 113. Wheelchair-accessible units are available. The other 40 apartments are for seniors age 55 and up, with rent adjusted for income. To apply for those units, contact Landsman Real Estate, the property manager, at (585) 427-7570.
