I found out today some very sad news. It’s with a heavy heart we say goodbye to a fellow martial artist Billy Pine Sensei. His years of devotion to the art, teaching many students young and old will be remembered and missed . Our condolences goes out to his whole family, friends and students. Be at peace warrior.

What is the dojo? No. Not what is a dojo. I see many people saying certain comments out there in the Facebook and media world. ... But what is the purpose, the meaning and the reason for and of a dojo? As I’ve only been in the martial arts world training and teaching for over 30 years. Enlighten me. I’m looking to see how martial some of you are. I look forward to seeing your answers.

Please note the time requirements for showing up for class. Let me know if everyone is showing up. Long Post Please read everything and share if possible!... We will be reopening in phase 4 meaning Monday, June 29th, we will be back in the studio! Here is what you need to know: Follow the calendar posted. Upon reopening, we will resume the session we were in at the time of the closure. Each student will have 4 weeks to get in their 6 lessons due so 2 of the 4 weeks, you can double up on classes. The new session will begin Monday, July 27th. This session will only last 5 weeks, and the cost will be prorated. To ensure the most sanitary environment possible, we will be implementing the following for the time being: Please drop off/pick up at the time of your class If you are early, you must wait in the parking lot. No student is to come into the building until their class time. We will be ending classes 10 mins early to avoid overlap of students and give us time to clean/sanitize equipment between classes. Please be on time to pick up your child, we will be sure to walk them out, so they get back to you safely. Please have your child go to the bathroom ahead of arriving at the studio. There will be no waiting area available inside the building. We will be using separate mats; each child will have their own. There will only be 1 assistant in the studio with Miss Kelly during class times. Initially, spotting will be hands-off. Students will not be able to hang out in the studio between lessons, please arrange rides accordingly. For Recital Students: Recital practices will be once per week + Saturdays. Miss Kelly will work with individual students as it pertains to solo make-ups. Recital will be held Saturday August 15 @ 11am at St. Patrick’s Church in Binghamton (rehearsal on Friday 8/14). We updated the Facebook event to reflect this new date. Our banquet for this year has been cancelled. We are looking at possibly doing something to replace this event in the late fall. We will have multiple dressing rooms available to us at the recital. Seating will be grouped by family with respectable social distance between groups. Thank you everyone!!! Please share so we can keep everyone in the loop! I can’t wait to see you all and be back in the studio!!! Love, Miss Kelly
