At this point, there is really no reason to ever use diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Other antihistamines (like cetirizine or Zyrtec) work just as fast and just as well, with far less side effects. https://www.fda.gov//fda-warns-about-serious-problems-high
Thank you. Now rest in power. #RBG
A very good article on the transmission of COVID-19... https://t.co/cVBMWG3I7R
Everything seems to have changed in 2020, including hows talks are given at national medical conferences. Less travel... more Zoom!
Great work being done by Dr. Vickery and the team at Emory University. Efforts like this will not only help individuals with peanut allergy, but will allow us to learn so much about optimizing therapy. https://www.today.com//peanut-allergy-drug-palforzia-cost-
The FDA has approved a great new option for our patients with moderate to severe asthma, with a combination of three medications in one inhaler to be used once daily. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-gsk-fda-idUSKBN2603FW
New York State continues to see one of the lowest infection rates of COVID-19 in the country. Last week, Gov. Cuomo announced a 0.65% infection ratethe lowest since the pandemic began, as well as three straight weeks below 1%. We’re also among the leaders in testing. More than 100,000 test results were reported to New York State this week, a record high. Mask-wearing, social distancing, and hand hygiene have played a big role in our fight against coronavirus, and as summer turns to fall, kids return to school, and some employees go back into the workplace, we must remain vigilant against a second wave. Thank you for all your hard work in fighting this global pandemic!

We are thrilled to announce the addition of two new allergists to our practice. Dr. Linh An Tuong recently graduated from Rutgers and Dr. Peter Capucilli recently graduated from the Univ. of Pennsylvania. Both will be seeing patients at our downtown location and at our Linden Oaks office. Please help us in welcoming both to Rochester!!
We are excited to share that our practice administered our first-ever dose of FDA-approved peanut oral immunotherapy (OIT) today with Palforzia. Finn and his mother shared in our excitement! If you or someone you know are 4-17 years old with a known peanut allergy, please reach out to your allergist to see if this therapy is right for you.
This is a nice article on some innovative work by our allergists to manage inpatient consults at Rochester General Hospital via electronic-consultation. https://www.physiciansweekly.com/assessing-the-value-of-in/
Another significant set back for epicutaneous immunotherapy for peanut allergy (ie the peanut patch). https://www.globenewswire.com//DBV-Technologies-Receives-C
