Even during a rainy week our birders are active! Fall waterfowl are in the area including; Black Scoters, Surf Scoters, Hooded Mergansers, Wood Ducks, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Horned Grebe, Common Coot, Bufflehead, Northern Pintail, and Common Loon. Columbia County and ADBC are fortunate to have diverse bird life and dedicated birders who seek them out...Horned Grebe, Pied-billed Grebe, American Coot, Brant, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Eastern Meadowlark, Evening Grosbeak, and..... Lots of birds to see in our County along with the beautiful fall foliage. Recent reports at Overmountain Conservation Area include: Yellow-rumpled Warbler, Palm Warbler, Tennessee Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Vesper Sparrow...and the view from the gazebo is pretty nice too...

Recent reports from Hand Hollow Conservation Area have listed Red Crossbills. Today yielded many species including; Belted Kingfisher, Barred Owl, Osprey, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Blue-headed Vireo, Red-breasted Nuthatch, and Yellow-rumped Warbler. by C. Franks
