After 38 years of distinguised service to the Albany International Airport. Today will be the final shift for Firefighter Sandy DeBacco. The firehouse doors will be open today from 1530 to 1730 for people to wanting to stop by and wish him well.

The Executive Board of the Albany Airport Professional Firefighters IAFF Local I-65 Proudly Announces the Retirement of Firefighter Sante (Sandy) Debacco. After 38 years of Service, Sandy's last shift will be Tuesday January 26th 2021. The Executive Board, AvPorts Airport Management and Albany County Airport Authority Will be opening our Firehouse From 1530 Hrs to 1730hrs for Friends to to stop in and wish Sandy well as he transitions to the next chapter of his life. (Soc...ially Distanced of Course) Sandy Started with the Airport Fire Department on January 3rd 1983 when the County was running the Airport. In 1991 When the Airport Privatized its workforce Sandy chose to stay on and served for another 30 years. During that time Sandy was an integral part in making the Department What it is today. He Assisted in shaping the sixty plus firefighters that came after him. Always first to share his knowledge, bettering the firefighters around him, always advancing the department. Sandys departure will be a tremendous loss to the Airport community, The Albany Airport Fire Department, And most of all the Members of the Albany Airport Professional Firefighters past and present.
