There are only a handful of two-star Michelin restaurants in NY, and rarely do you see a place that accomplishes this within 4 months of opening. I had the chance to listen in with @fredrikberselius of @askanyc on his story of starting his shop, growing up in Sweden, and being inspired by nature and simplicity. In crafting a portrait for Fredrik, I sought the blank canvas of his black brick Williamsburg dining room as a beautifully stark backdrop representative of his taste.... It helped that he was also a model in the past, and we were quickly diving into some powerful #onelight portraits right away. What began as a static palette soon became a dynamic dance between light, camera, and subject, and soon settled on a shot we all liked. Conversations always make for better photography.
