The spring of 2015 I gave the art world the middle finger and my old stained undershirts as sculptures - although awarded a cash prize, the Memorial Art Gallery curators mutilated one of the pieces by cutting the harness I had weaved out of fishing line, so the pieces would hang from the ceiling, spinning with a disco ball motor. Because they would not tell me on the phone what had happened (they were now unable to glue the fishing line to the piece, hence why I had woven th...e harness), the piece was not properly hung, I had to come back to fix it. The talkers of art do not communicate what art does without words - and even though I took thoughtful advantage of the audio guide available, attendees would demand my explanation, refusing to listen to the 60 second audio component - we are mainly driven by our automatic preconceptions of the world around us - take off the blinders, you’re not a horse pulling a carriage http://ale-g.com//MAG_Rochester_20/MAG_Rochester_2015.html

Here's a sunset shot of Lake Erie, taken when my daughter lived in Erie, PA - I wonder how many of you spotted the man in the boat ... ;)
