Our lifetime member Emmojean Sturdevant has experienced a long recovery as her daughter Rosie has informed us. She continues to recover from her fall with a broken hip, broken ribs, lung infection from a lung puncher, and prolonged stay in intensive care. After many weeks, she has left Strong Memorial Hospital and she is now in Highland in Room 105. She does not normally answer her phone in room 105, but the nursing staff at the station transferred my call to her room and h...elped her answer our call. Priscilla and I spoke with her to let everyone know that we continue to pray for her. She says she is at Highland Park Rehabilitation to get stronger and heal with her rehabilitation there. Members of the Church recently put up the Nativity in front of the Allentown Church. Please keep Merle Sonnleightner (Alice Alsworth's brother-in-law) in your prayers as he is continuing to fight cancer. We again want to thank Merle, as he made this Nativity as a gift to our church back in 2015.

Dear Church Family, I am delighted to share that we collected $680 toward the Thanksgiving Baskets! With the help of the Youth and Mission Funds we delivered either a ham or turkey along with a gift card to Save-A-Lot to every family. Each gift card allowed for $10 per person within the household. In addition, the Scio Lions Club donated fruit baskets. We served 18 families totaling 93 people.... Please keep all of these families in your thoughts and prayers. A family was added to the list at the last minute on account of a house fire. I hope your Thanksgiving holiday is filled with gratitude for all the blessings we are able to give and to receive. I am so proud of my Allentown United Methodist Church as we recognize the caring and wonderful JMH Staff. We started this many years ago through the efforts of Joyce Weimer and we continue in her memory.

Happy Monday, everyone. As we start this week, let's remember this: EVERY day is a miracle.

Dear Lord, We pray for those who you’ve called to help and care for the sick. The ones who don’t have a choice to hide from things that may scare them, but ins...tead are on the front line. Wrap your protection around them. Meet them with your peace that surpasses all understanding. Allow them to feel your presence right beside them. Regardless of what happens here on earth, we know you are still on the throne. Nothing is bigger than you. But we lift up the brave ones who are directly involved. We know that without the medical field things would be much worse. Thank you for working through these people. Thank you for being so close.
