The season that just won’t end.! Salmon fishing on the Salmon river continues to impress with fish continuing to enter the river almost on a daily basis.. Salmon fishing through town was very good today and all throughout the river.. More Steelhead are making the presence known more each day and we are seeing a tremendous number of brown trout for salmon river terms.. Looks as it’s shaping up to be a good to great steelhead season! The store is stocked up with everythi...ng you need to get you on steelhead! Good report out of the DSR today.. All the anglers that stopped into the store today some who have been down on the run since August said it was the beat day they have had this year thus far.. Took a ride down to the estuary around mid day and seen hundreds and hundreds of fish off the bridge myself.. With rain forecasted Monday-Sunday of next week we could see the Peak of the 2020 run taking place sometime soon over the next 10 days.! Fish move it throughout the da...y is still a little slow in the transition parts of the river.. The large holes are still holding a good number of fish so I’m holding great numbers of fish.. Town pool, and Trestle probably holding the largest number. But with the week of clouds and rain forecasted we could see movement throughout the day begin to get better.. There is still a large number of fish in front of the river in 8-25 foot of water and the trollers are still picking at them daily.. The skein bite in Oswego is starting to turn on as well.. So besides our low water conditions everything is starting to get a lot better and peak at the right time. The next 2-3 weeks of salmon fishing on the river should be muchhhhh better then the precious 2 weeks. Store is open 24 hours Friday and Saturday! See everyone soon! Dylan

We are now seeing our fourth consecutive day of good fish movement through the lower end of the river. Fish are moving very well for the first few hours of each day. As the sun continues to get warm throughout the morning day fish are noticeably holding up in the bigger holes. Black Hole, Highbridge Pool, Town Pool, 81, Paper Mill and the Sportsman Pool are all seeing great numbers of holding fish. The estuary is continuing to hold large numbers of fish as well as large pods ...of cohos beginning to collect off the mouth of the river. Fishing on Lake Ontario for King and Coho Salmon is as good as you could ever ask for and imagine at this time with 20+ bite days becoming the new norm. Fish are spread anywhere from depths of 30 to 200 feet and many people seem to be taking advantage of the near perfect conditions. Flows continue to be 185 CFS and it seems that our summer like temperatures have passed and it looks like cooler temps are here to stay. We are forecasted to see some rain on Sunday, which we could really use. The All Seasons shop is fully stocked at this time with waders, boots, rods, reels, combo’s; as well as having some good end of season sales for lake trolling equipment. Open 24hrs Tonight!!!!!! River continues to improve daily with small pods of fish entering the system every day. Right place right time continues to be the recipe for success.. Some guys doing very well and some struggling to find fish.. Compactor down is seeing the bulk of the fish being taken right now but there is definitely fish filtering into the middle of the river and some fish have been seen in altmar. The lake continues to be on fire when Mother Nature allows!! Fish... from 60-250 feet of water still with more and more fish showing up to return home to the salmon river! Tomorrow looks a little better weather wise.. probably gonna see 2-3 foot rollers for the most part tomorrow and Sunday and Labor Day Monday looks great! Fishing continues to get better every single day.. pictured below are the past two days of fishing aboard crime pays sport fishing with capt. Jason Hamilton fish are stacked from the plant in 350 feet of water all the way to in front of the salmon river in 65 feet of water... More fish are showing up in the estuary still not huge number but there is a pile of fish there.. A close friend of us at the store fished the low end of the Douglaston salmon run this morning and re...ported 30+ fish going by him first thing in the morning and then seeing a few more here and there through out the day.. Wednesday is calling for thunderstorms, wind and rain.. So we could be looking at something interesting for Labor Day weekend.. Obviously we all know how salmon work and they basically run when they feel fit but rain and win help a lot.. the water is currently at 185 cfs, We did speak with a member of Brookfield and they are looking to get the water up to 335 CFS our minimum season flow from September-April as soon as they can, So we need that rain tomorrow! Hey everyone!! We have been receiving a ton of calls today about fish in the river. Yes there was fish caught in the DSR today! No there is not a lot of them yet lol! But seeing fish being taken in the river is always exciting! We should continue to see fish trickling in now each day from here out.. There is also some fish swimming around in the estuary that can be seen from the bridge, we are supposed to receive a lot of rain tonight and throughout the day tomorrow! Lake f...lip, cool nights, rain all the ingredients and you guys know the rest! We will see... lake fishing continues to be inconsistent! One guy does great another guy struggles.. Tons of fish right out side the front door just being a little picky some days.. Today they seemed to turn on and hopefully it’s the beginning of a great week of fishing leading into Labor Day.. The store is stacked to the roof with rods reels, waders and everything in between with new product showing up daily!
