These are a few educational Memes I made to help educate people in general and homeowners. ***Dirt at the base simply said suffocates the roots under the ground. Just adding 3-5 inches of new soil will definitely compacts the area and cut off aeration. So air and water pockets reduce in size; tree feeder roots cannot find the same amounts of oxygen and moisture before the soil was added. Roots may die back as a result of the decompressed soil, causing stress to the tree ab...ove. Pests and diseases that prey on stressed trees will get into the tree the tree and stress it more. Buttress roots are important because they allow the tree to grow on thin soil and support tall trees from falling. Which is why air spading and keeping the base clear is the most important physiological factor depicting the health of a tree is the status of the root flare at the base of the tree. It is very important that the root flare be free of soil, mulch that’s to high on the trunk*** Sincerely, your friendly neighborhood Arborists Stuart Levine

Just a little route flare excavation, girdled root pruning + soil restoration. This was a side job on one of our main jobs (big job) this morning. I’m very happy how this turned out!

My dump spot is unfortunately done. It looks amazing though! They have so much more parking and it’s strong. They are going to put gravel down to make it more aesthetically pleasing and even though it’s already very beautiful. ***currently looking for another spot*** Before-during-after

As the admin of Mother Nature’s Avengers - I believe we have to find our balance between ourselves and nature. We inhabit the wilderness. Be kind and be educate...d, courteous and treat this land we all have to live on like it’s our own home. And another thing... We have to enjoy everything around us, enjoy everything that's going on. Don’t take this life for granted, and don’t bypass the small things. One minute we’re living life and the next minute it can slip away - it happens so quick. Let’s all try to appreciate what we already have. Treat your friends well, your family, coworkers, etc. Treat everybody well and just be positive. We will inevitably face negatives, we all know life isn’t perfect so that’s why we just have to let the bad stuff go knowing we will get through it eventually. Our journeys can be positive as long as we keep a positive attitude and mindset. I believe one of the most important qualities of life is really appreciating life itself. This life, we only get one and it’s not for a long time. so let’s enjoy it.

***Light air spading job today*** I came to clean a long line of brush one of my good clients asked me to chip for him. Then I saw this beach tree completely b...uried by leaves off the side of his property - without asking or charging extra money - I did him this favor by clearing the base (very light) this was not a full service but it’s better than it was. Then while Malory and the intern/ apprentice were cutting up logs into firewood I cleared the base of two cherry trees with some garden tools and a hose. I did this jot for him. I did this for the tree because I care. This isn’t a job, it’s my life, my way of life. It’s my hobby on top of my many other hobbies. I just love what I do and I want to spread my knowledge, care for the industry and help other + help the trees

This job isn’t a job. It’s a lifestyle. We don’t do this for the money (although that’s what keeps us running) We do it simply because we live it. We love the industry as a whole: the trees, the industry workers, our suppliers, our sponsors, the education and last but definitely not least our clients!

A simple FYI - root systems, like a canopy, should be inspected as well - do not neglect the roots, since they are the foundation. The honest expectation with a lot of trees in poor health: You can remove dead limbs to help the tree-this will help promote new growth, vigor and vitality. Although this will only be nursing until it declines, then dies. On most mature trees and some younger trees in poor health, mushrooms and fungi will be noticeable - This is most likely ...because of moisture. The only way to fix this is to change the environment, which isn’t possible. It's always good we set a clear expectation with our clients. We understand homeowners may get sad which is why it's up to us arborists to give our customers the honest truth - for safety reasons mostly. Sometimes the best thing to do (unfortunately) may be to remove a tree to reduce liability to property. Arborists are not miracle workers pruning dead branches on a dying tree is merely a Band-Aid. If homeowners who truly care about their trees or a certain tree (especially that staple nature, full grown tree in the middle of the yard) to really effect the health of the tree or trees you have to work with the soil and root systems. Doing amendments such as loosening the soil for aeration of compacted areas, fertilization of the soil and Inoculation of the Root Zone. Also, soil samples and maybe foliar analysis may be used. ***Root Flare Exposure...The most important physiological factor depicting the health of a tree is the status of the Root Flare area at that base of the tree. It is very important that the root flare be free of soil, mulch, and circling roots aka girdling roots. (How to identify the root flare) - A tree flare, also called root flare, is the section of the tree, at the base that starts to broaden. The tree’s trunk just above the soil line... this Is the root flare. -Sincerely, your friendly neighborhood arborist. Stuart Levine AmberTreeCare 9144035620
