For our Employee Spotlight this month, we are featuring Brian Willms in the Operations Department! Brian is an Accounting Assistant here at Amherst Alarm. 1. What does your job entail? My primary focus is to assist the Accounting Supervisor, Angela, with day to day accounting work. My job normally entails processing both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions, meaning, mostly all money in & out passes through me at some point. I also perform invoice entry and a...ssist with balance sheet preparation. 2. What has been your proudest moment working at Amherst Alarm? My proudest moment was when I caught a bank loan processing error on the bank reconciliation which would have cost the company about $20,000. 3. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie would have to be Deadpool. 4. What is your favorite food/meal? My favorite food would have to be a venison cheeseburger. 5. What do you like to do for fun? I like to play grand strategy video games and work on my hobbies which are hunting and wood carving. 6. What is your dream vacation? Going on a Moose hunt in Alaska with my Dad, Uncle Kevin and my two brothers. Thank you for all of your hard work, Brian!

As a Commercial Sales Manager, I am responsible for servicing my existing commercial customers and prospecting for new business. I consult with my customers and prospects to provide security and life safety solutions, system design, sales, and project management during the installation process. I also keep my customers aware of the changes in security and f...ire alarm technology and educate them on how they can benefit from them. 2. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is The Sound of Music. 3. Who is your favorite band? My favorite band is The Beach Boys. 4. Hobbies/interests outside of work? I enjoy working on Model Trains. 5. For our Employee Spotlight this month we are featuring Donna Lankes in the Customer Service Department. 1. What does your job entail? I assist all departments by completing any administrative duties I am able to help with. To list a few, I answer customer phone calls, helping with any questions and concerns, help maintain customer files and provide insurance certificates for customers so they are able to get a possible discount on their homeowner's insurance.... 2. What has been your proudest moment working at Amherst Alarm? I have had a few accomplishments, but the one that stands out the most would be integrating thousands of new customers into the Amherst Alarm database. This task took multiple months to complete. 3. Give three words that describe you? Thoughtful, friendly and helpful (or as Cindi says, useful)! 4. Who is your favorite band or singer? I have enjoyed listening to Luke Combs lately. 5. What do you like to do for fun? Shopping, of course! 6. Where was your favorite vacation? I love going to Florida! Thank you for all of your hard work, Donna!

For our Spotlight this month we are featuring Matt Doedema in the Monitoring Response Center. Matt is an MRC Supervisor and has been with Amherst Alarm for 9 Years! 1. What does your job entail? As one of the shift supervisors, I make sure that the MRC is running efficiently in the absence of a senior dispatcher. I also help out data entry with getting projects done in a timely manner.... 2. What has been your proudest moment working at Amherst Alarm? Just being able to help out our customers with their issues, whether it be an alarm activation or figuring out what trouble they have. 3. What is your favorite meal? I don’t really have any favorite meal but a good homemade mac & cheese is never out of the question. 4. Who is your favorite band or singer? I enjoy listening to 80’s music. 5. What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy playing Minecraft & spending time with my family. I’m also a firefighter/ EMT & Erie County hazmat tech so it keeps me busy. 6. What is your dream vacation? Taking the family on a month-long camping trip through Virginia. We learned this past Saturday, May 30, 2020, our friend and former co-worker, Dave Britton passed from cancer. Dave was part of our Sales Department from August 2011 until February 2019 when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. He served hundreds and hundreds of our clients with warmth and professionalism. Dave had many challenges in his life and he faced them all, including his battle with cancer, with positivity and determination to succeed. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Current services will be held privately by the family with a celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
