Some days are just more exciting than others! Valley Dental Pediatrics Code Green: X3!!! Three different black belly ewes each welcomed a single male lamb throughout the day today!!... This brings our lamb count to 7 so far in 2021! Lambs and moms doing great! We are on a roll! What species will be next!?!

Valley Dental Pediatrics Code Green: Dromedary Camel Things are certainly looking up in 2021! ... This morning, Lucy, one of our dromedary camels gave birth to a male calf. Our animals all have choice of enclosed and heated barns to retire to at any time; however Lucy chose the yard to give birth. Days prior, our team noticed Lucy bagging up and new a calf was on the way. She was moved to the shift yard, adjacent to the main exhibit, and Lucy’s herd mates and the calf’s dad, Randy, watched over the fence line as she welcomed her calf. What about the snow? The cold? Camels are wildly adapted animals and can tolerate extreme temperatures in both directions. An animal with snow on their back means they are well insulated and body heat is staying internally, as it should! The calf is being observed closely by our team and appears to be doing very well after initial examination and drying off. Join us in welcoming little Ricky! Calf of Lucy & Randy

Day 8, nothing but trouble, Arty and Taj, antics, double! Bull, now three, coming of age, But how old is Arty? Much tougher to gauge!... Day to be spent, playing giraffe-games, The North Pole it's reindeer, just a difference in names!

Our Animal Encounters make wonderful, educational presents during the holidays! Our Sloth Encounter is a must-do for any sloth lover! During the encounter, guests will meet and speak with our sloth keepers for Sloth 101 inside our sloth exhibit!
