The Dutch Quad Residence Halls and Health Services Renovations at the University of Albany received an Institutional Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects Eastern New York Chapter. According to the jury, There was a good transition between existing architecture and new design work. The project brings life to an already impressive building. a+ thanks our clients, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and University at Albany for trusting us to design this exciting and innovative project that also obtained LEED Gold certification. The recently completed renovation of Beverwyck and Schuyler Halls at University at Albany has received LEED Gold certification The project included renovations to the residence halls and the transformation of existing dining facilities into a new home for the Campus Health, Counseling, and Wellness Center. LEED Gold was achieved through the use of new high performance windows; sustainable, local, and recycled finish materials; energy efficient LED light fixtures and HVAC systems, water use reducing plumbing fixtures, and enhanced commissioning. Congratulations to Casey Crossley, AIA, LEED AP, who joined us fifteen years ago while he was a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Since that time, he received his Bachelor of Architecture, became a licensed architect and a LEED Accredited Professional, and was named an Associate with the firm. Casey is currently working on Poestenkill Place, an 82-unit apartment building in Troy, several projects at Maria College, and the new Centre for Addition and Mental Health, Phase 1D Redevelopment in Toronto.
