Donald Judd Home + Studio (2013) // #throwback The meticulous restoration the 19th-century warehouse where the artist lived and worked in SoHo’s cast-iron district, required a complete rebuilding of both exterior and interior. It was here that Judd developed his concept of permanently installed spaces for art. We worked closely with the @JuddFoundation to understand his philosophical approach and creative process, designing the space for the public to experience Judd’s origin...al intent. ICYMI: the Rothko Chapel in Architectural Digest

Dominique and John de Menil founded the Rothko Chapel in 1971 as a place for spiritual contemplation and an institution dedicated to social action. Today, after a meticulous renewal, the Rothko Chapel reopens to the public. The Chapel building realizes Mark Rothko’s original vision for daylighting under the Texas sun and restores the visitor experience and sense of awe in the presence of his fourteen monumental paintings....
