Come work at ArcWorks or one of our other employment readiess services.
Is employment a goal? If so check out all the pre-vocational or employment readiness programs we offer. ArcWorks An integrated manufacturing business operated b...y The Arc of Monroe. Our business offers pre-vocational services to support people in gaining employment readiness skills through a combination of classroom learning and paid work activities. People in this program will work on manufacturing tasks such as welding, labeling, filling bottles, packaging, and assembly. In the classroom, people will develop their self-advocacy skills, improve their soft work skills, engage in resume writing, and participate in volunteer activities in our community. Culinary Career Prep (CCP) at ArcDeli This program is designed for people who are interested in preparing for a career in food service or related industries. It takes place at ArcDeli, a full service cafeteria and catering business, operated by the Arc of Monroe and located in the Canal Side Business Center and in other local workplace cafeterias. CCP offers a combination of classroom learning and paid work activities. People receive training in food preparation, food safety, cash register use, customer service, management, and other job-related skills. LifePrep@Naz A higher education transitional service that prepares participants for eventual community employment. Located on the Nazareth College campus it provides opportunities for people to learn employment readiness skills through vocational internships and continue their education and development with peers in a college classroom setting. There are opportunities to participate in college classes, socialize with peers and peer mentors, enjoy campus activities, volunteer, or have an internship on campus or in the community. Monroe Community College (MCC) Experience Our higher education transitional service that prepares participants for eventual community employment. People learn relevant, marketable employment skills and acquire vocational internship and volunteer experience in various departments on and off MCC campus. With their student IDs, participants can enjoy all of the campus amenities, clubs, and social events. Adult Project SEARCH A business-led internship service that teaches important transferable job skills while immersing people in a community business environment. This year-long program is in partnership with the Del Monte Hotel Group where participants learn transferable work skills while completing internships at four local Del Monte Group hotels. In addition to the hands on internship piece, participants also have an opportunity to work on skills such as safety in the community, banking, independent transportation, and many more responsibilities. Many of our Adult Project SEARCH graduates move on to be employed at places like Wegmans, The Del Monte Hotel Group, senior living facilities, and Strong Memorial Hospital. SELF at The Strong Museum This is an employment readiness service located at The Strong National Museum of Play.
