Good evening. Some of the coldest weather is upon us for the next couple of days. Limit your time outdoors. If you are outdoors, wear several layers of clothing and try to rewarm as much as possible. Please do not leave pets outside during this time. Frost Bite can happen quickly and you should try to slowly rewarm yourself. If you need us, we are here for you. Check on elderly neighbors to make sure they have proper heat. Do not use kerosene heaters inside your home, they can cause Cabon Monoxide which is a killer. Stay safe.

Every Christmas Eve since 1994, Communications Officer Art Porlier has been manning a desk in the Washington County Department of Public Safety Communications C...enter, handling emergency calls and activity as he does every other day of the year. On Christmas Eve, he receives a special assignment to the "North Pole" desk and is tasked with monitoring the activity of a certain individual () and his red sleigh... relaying the important information for those "who need to know". Want to Listen In? The annual "North Pole Alerts" will be broadcast throughout the evening as time and activity allow via our Fire & EMS Alert frequency and on our online scanner: http://bit.ly/WashCoNYDPSScanner NOTE: North Pole alerts are broadcast as time and activity allow and may need to be suspended or discontinued at any point as we continue to serve the needs of our communities and First Responders. #washingtoncountyny #northpolealerts #viewfromthecomm #clausporlier

Heavy weather is upon us this afternoon into this evening. Please don't go out unless you have too. If trees fall on power lines, call 911 and don't go near them. Always assume any downed lines are live. Tornado warnings have posted for our area until 9pm. Never drive through standing water in the road, it could be deeper than you think. Be safe everyone.
