The Eleczko family is very well know and respected in the Town of Lancaster and Town of Alden fire service community and beyond. We at Armor are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Millgrove Volunteer Fire Department EMS Lt. Beckie Eleczko. We hope her family and friends can find comfort during this difficult time.
Every fire company has a few of those "go to" members that know the ins and outs of their agency. Tonight we share the sadness with our brothers and sisters of the Lake View Fire District on the news of Fire Commissioner John Wicka's passing. John was definitely one of the "go to" guys at Lake View

As you decorate for Christmas remember to keep your real tree watered.
Don’t wait to dispose of your real #Christmas tree. Dried-out trees are a fire danger and should not be left in the home or garage, or placed outside against th...e home. Check with your local community to find a recycling program. https://bit.ly/2EtZmpl #WinterFireSafety #holidaysafety #firesafety See more
Demonstration of why you shouldn’t put water on a grease fire.
Please make sure to keep your hydrants clear of snow.
Happy Thanksgiving from the Armor Volunteer Fire Company
Just after 5:30 Thursday even, Armor firefighters were alerted to assist the Scranton Volunteer Fire Company with a large brush fire in the area of Sowles Rd and the NYS thruway. Armor Engine 2 responded with the 1st and 2nd Assistant Chiefs. Armor was asked to respond to the NYS thruway to attack the fire. Later both of Armor's UTV's were alerted to respond to assist with both extinguishing several small fires that were inaccessible to larger fire apparatus and also to assist with removing the large amount of fire hose needed to extinguish the fire. A total of 10 fire companies from 4 different towns were called for the stubborn wind driven fire. Armor crews operated for just over 3 1/2 hours.
Congratulations to EMT's Alexa Wicher and Molly Kabza as well as probationary member Sarah Reiter who this morning successfully completed and passed the NYS Basic Exterior Firefighter Operations (BEFO) class. The course which began in late August was a hybrid of both online and in-person learning. On top of the numerous hours per week that these young ladies devoted towards the BEFO class, they also devoted as much if not more time towards answering calls, working their per...sonal jobs and also attending college. No easy task for sure! I also would like to thank the firefighters and officers who spent many hours assisting our BEFO students with practicing and perfecting the skills learned in class and assisting at the class itself. Good job ladies and thank you for committing yourselves to both the Armor Fire Company and the citizens we serve. Chief Bienias See more
