Laura Marsolek '13, '17 M.A. was featured on an episode of the PBS series, Postcards, where she discussed her passion for jewelry. She talked about her study of historic jewelry traditions, her experiences shadowing master goldsmiths and the story behind her own line of jewelry inspired by traditional Indian metalwork. Laura received her bachelor’s degree in art history and metalsmithing from VPA - Syracuse University College of Visual and Performing Arts and her master’s in Italian Renaissance Art History from Art & Music Histories, Syracuse University in A&S.

A&S remembers Professor Emeritus of Physics Joshua Goldberg G’50, ’52 Ph.D. who left an indelible mark on the department as both a student and longtime professor at Syracuse University. An expert in Einstein’s general theory of relativity, he helped bring some of world’s greatest physicists to the University, including Sir Roger Penrose, recipient of the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics.
