Atlas Social Club

Two weeks ago we re-opened to offer drinks-to-go. We appreciate all the customers who stopped by and the support we received from our neighbors, but today we decided to temporarily close once again because of several incidents of crowding on 9th Avenue. On both weekends we tried repeatedly to prevent groups from congregating on the street in front of the bar. We posted signs, handed out masks, encouraged customers to wear them, and reminded anyone near the bar of social dist...ancing guidelines, but we have found there is only so much a business can do to enforce people’s behavior on public streets. Part of the problem is that there are a number of open bars and restaurants in our vicinity, and on a few occasions there simply have been too many people socializing in close proximity along the avenue. We have made the decision to temporarily stop offering drinks-to-go out of a sense of responsibility and an abundance of caution. In the coming days, we hope the city will help restaurants and bars like ours come up with a solution which will enable us to offer drinks-to-go in the most responsible way possible. We hope to re-open safely and soon. Stay tuned for future announcements, and thank you all for your support!

Out of concern for our staff and our patrons in light of the Covid19 crisis, we have decided to close Atlas Social Club until further notice. We feel strongly that this decision is the socially responsible thing to do to slow down the epidemic in order to minimize the surge of patients requiring hospitalization.
