Another in the #lightswelove series. Nothing lasts forever, but this steel armature has lasted over a hundred years. Removed from a historic New York fixture, it has a graceful curve and a texture that appears deliberately sculpted despite forming as the result of gradual degradation. Aurora saw a niche that needed to be filled in the art light market and designed a picture light. Inspired by the functionality of the traditional art light, the picture light is a minimal, elegant, utilitarian fixture well-suited to light art or to illuminate space. As a restoration shop we work in practically every material known to lighting fixtures. In this case, two 1930's Hans-Agne Jakobsson fringe pendants came in and had a really bad fringe day. We were able to take them to be professionally steamed in order to make the fringe relax. After steaming, the fringe looks beautiful. Thank you @jesseparrislamb for bringing us beautiful fixtures to restore. As part of my favorite lamps series that I live with, here is an old oil lamp that is maybe 200 years old. I love the graceful lines, and there is nothing like the warmth of a flame. It was given to me by my dear friend @andhofanimals. Thank you Kurt! It is one of my favorite lighting fixtures.
