Sheltering Arms is looking to hire fee for service therapists (paid per session) at our Article 31 clinics. We have waitlists of clients at our Jamaica location and Bronx location, and need to bring on these part time staff to meet the need. We also need staff at our Far Rockaway location - although we do not have a waitlist there we anticipate one to develop as we begin some increased outreach, and need to get the staff in place. Hours are flexible, days, nights, weekends or... any combo. As is often the case, Spanish speaking would be great, but not necessary. Our rates are slightly higher for Spanish speaking. We prefer licensed but due to the increased need, we would accept unlicensed who are otherwise well qualified. It is a good way to get clinical hours and work toward LCSW. Our clinics serve the lifespan but we specialize in early childhood mental health and have the potential opportunity to train the right candidate in Child Parent Psychotherapy. Currently, we are working mostly through telehealth although some in person work takes place as needed and is safe. The locations are: Jamaica - 89-74 162nd St. Jamaica, 11432 corner of Jamaica Ave and 162nd.Bronx - 432 E. 149th Street, Bronx, 10455Far Rockaway - 1600 Central Ave, 11691 (this is right across the Nassau Border and very accessible to Nassau Residents) I also have an opening in one of my Preventive Programs. It is a program that uses Child Parent Psychotherapy in the home, while also addressing child welfare issues. We are looking for a licensed social worker with at least one of the following: strong child welfare experience, strong clinical experience, strong supervisory experience. A combination of those traits would be ideal, but again willing to work with the right candidate. If you think of anyone feel free to send this information along and encourage them to reach out to me directly, my contact info is below. We are seeking candidates who are interested in becoming family therapists in NYC and who have a passion for social justice. We specifically recruit collaborative, committed individuals who can become strong pa...rtners for families and future leaders in the field of children and family services. This is a great opportunity for graduating students to get training in these models, receive clinical supervision hours , and to join our growing professional network. Would you be able to pass along the message below and attached flyer to any students who you think could be strong candidates?" *********** Information about the opportunity and Children’s Corps: Are you interested in becoming a family therapist in New York City? How can I help? In response to students experiencing trauma from the COVID-19 crisis, the School of Social Work has launched the Adelphi Mutual Aid Group Project, providing students with opportunities to share their experiences during a time of pandemic social distancing. The groups, facilitated by Adelphi’s Master of Social Work students and graduates, are designed to build a supportive online network and a safe space for students to share experiences, strategies and concerns. We are inspired by how our Adelphi family has come together to support one another through these trying times. If you are in a position to give back, we invite you to help our students in the School of Social Work achieve their dreams. adelphi.edu/giving/socialwork #PantherPride
