Today is #givingtuesday #GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past eight years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of gene...rosity counts and everyone has something to give. We have extended our for 1 more day, so that today, on #givingtuesday you can participate in a small version of an event that we all love so much. The means so much to our camp family for so many reasons. From the youngest camper in camp, to the oldest, to the family visitors, and the alumni, every person in an event that helps to raise money for causes we care about. Just like at our big event, we hope to see you ! For the past week of our Virtual Bazaar, we have been highlighting some of the organizations that the Bazaar Foundation is proud to support. We have made a commitment to support some organizations that have honored the work and/or memory of the members in the Baco/Che-Na-Wah community. Working toward our goal every year, teaches us the importance of the Baco/Che-Na-Wah Family, and how lucky we are to have the friendships that we’ve made throughout the years, and the memor...ies to hold onto throughout our lives. Some of these organizations include: ALS Association Walk to Defeat, Valerie Marrero Cultural Enrichment Fund, Baco Boys Fund, Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, Fred Gabler Helping Hand Fund, Harris Cohn Memorial Fund, Music Never Stops:, The Tyler Seaman Foundation, FACES (Finding a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures), JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), and more. Fall is in the air While we wish we could all enjoy some awesome activities at camp, we found the next best thing a little closer to home!! Campers and prospective campers... get ready to go APPLE PICKING!! Sunday October 11, we invite you to come apple picking at Apple Ridge Orchards in Warwick NY at 10am. Come with your family, and enjoy some distanced, outdoor fun! Barbara, Allison, and other members of the Senior Staff will be around for any new or prospective families to meet! A registration form will be emailed out as well as posted in our Instagram bio

We are devastated to hear of the passing of our camp friend, and Che-Na-Wah daughter, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg aka Kiki. An incredible role model for our camp family. She taught us about justice and equality, and instilled in us the importance of being independent, speaking out for those that are in need, while still remembering her favorite camp songs. We honor her legacy, and promise to remain true to her values. And may the lamps of Beauty, Truth, Fortitude, and Love ever burn brightly for Che-Na-Wah’s Daughters #BTFL
