Congratulations to our faculty member Ignacio Galán on his upcoming participation in this year's Venice Biennale! Galan will be participating with Matilde Cassani (Architectural Association), Iván L. Munuera (Princeton University), and Joel Sanders (Yale University) in the international exhibit curated by Hashim Sarkis.

Gildersleeve Professor Joy Mboya on March 25th. Joy Mboya is a performer, cultural activist, and the founding executive director of the GoDown Arts Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. The Barnard Empirical Reasoning Center is celebrating GIS Day on Wednesday, November 13th from 6:30-8:30pm in Milstein 102. The program includes the annual treasure hunt, map-themed cookie decorating, and guest speaker Dare Brawley, BC Alum and Assistant Director of Columbia's Center for Spatial Research. There will be a map gallery on display featuring students' contributions--we encourage everyone to submit a map! Maps should be e-mailed to [email protected] by 12pm on Tuesda...y, November 12th. Map Guidelines: - Maps should be static; we will not be accepting interactive maps. - Maps can be hand drawn or made using software. - Maps should be 11 x 17". They can be oriented in any direction.

The Barnard and Columbia Architecture Department invites you to an exhibition and reception for Women-Designed NYC, a publication of the Public Design Commission of New York City. Women-Designed NYC focuses on women-led projects, including projects by Barnard and Columbia Architecture faculty members, that were awarded by the Public Design Commission over the past ten years, and includes parks, streetscapes, cultural buildings, and infrastructure. Come celebrate this work with us on November 21st!

Join us for the Senior Requirements Meeting on Monday, October 28 from 12pm - 1pm in the McCagg Gallery. This is a required meeting for all students majoring in architecture who will graduate in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020.
