For many years, the Batavia Lions Club has participated in the United Way Day of Caring, fixing and refurbishing bicycles, in what has become a signature projec...t of the local service club. Even though Day of Caring wasn’t held this year, the bike project continued! The Batavia Lions Club once again participated with Ringingr the Bell in support of the Salvation Army Christmas find raising drive. On Saturday, December 12th, Club members were at Tops Market from 9 until 5. In the spirit of the Season, as well as donating time, the Club made a $300 donation. Lion John Holder is shown depositing the donation into the kettle. The Lions hope everyone has a peaceful and safe Holiday Season.

While the pandemic has put a crimp in many projects the Batavia Lions, working with the Batavia Police Department, is getting ready to repair and refurbish bicycles for next springs Day of Caring. A shout out to Borrells Gym for letting us use the basement to work in and Adam Miller’s for supplying parts and expertise. Lions Rimmer, Holder, Cippiline and Clark provided the muscle to collect and move the bicycles. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
