November 26, 1920 100 YEARS AGO Rockland News BECKERLE RETURNS Laurence Beckerle, Vice President and manager of the Spring Valley Coal and Lumber Company is home from a trip south, which he made to gather information in connection with the lumber business. Mr. Beckerle spent most of his time in the vicinity of New Orleans, going through the lumber mills where Cypress and yellow pine lumber is made and gathered much information of great value to him in carrying on his business.

We have lost the "rock" of the Brockport Rugby Club, Philip L Haberstro. My heart stopped for a moment when I heard, that is what an affect that Phil had on my ...life during my college days. He was physically the strongest person that I have ever known and the fastest on the hand ball court. Phil was a leader and one of the most caring person that I have ever known. I lost a piece of me today; I will miss Phil dearly. See more
