If you change nothing, nothing will change.... #inspirationMonday
As they grow, they get more savvy for sure! #humpdayhumor
We all like to have control over situations. Your kids also enjoy having control. In fact, they try taking control as soon as they are able to as very young children. Harness this desire for control by allowing them to choose. Giving your kids choices is easy and it allows them to grow in their independence while learning how to take some responsibility. When giving choices, it can help you as well because your kids can be helpful members of your family. Here are some exam...ples: "I'll let you choose, would you like to have green beans or cauliflower with dinner?" "You can decide if you would rather take a shower or a bath." "The living room and stairs both need to be vacuumed. Tell me which one I should do and which one you should do." Do you see how much potential this holds? Your kids eat their veges, they get clean, and chores get done! It's all in how its presented. Fabulous!! #tiptuesday
This is a fabulous reminder What goals are you working toward? #inspirationMonday
I'll take cats and blankets any day! #humpdayhumor
Your kids are important members of your family. And they do best when they feel important and when they are valued. Value them by asking for their opinions. ... Ask them what they want for dinner. Ask them which chore they would like to do first. Ask them if there is anything they would like from the grocery store. Ask them what they want to watch on TV. The decisions that you are allowing them to make don't have to be major ones. Just enough to help them feel valued and their wishes respected. #tiptuesday

Well.....if you think about it, you know it's true. LOL #humpdayhumor
Kid's NOT listening to their parents is one of the most common parenting concerns out there. Not listening behaviors results in stress for you, for your kids, and for your whole family. Thankfully there are ways to improve your kid's listening ability. As a bonus, when your kids listen your stress stays in check, your can praise your kiddo for a job well done, and they feel proud of their actions. Its a win-win. Ways encourage your kids to listen include:... 1. Use eye contact when you are speaking. This ensures that you have their attention. 2. Use one-step directions 3. Set a timer for compliance These really work! #tiptuesday
Given that our state of mind fluctuates from day to day, hour by hour and even minute by minute....it is fair to say that our emotions and thoughts also change. You may be doing very well with all of this "New Normal" stuff. Or you might be struggling to stay on top of everything, maybe you have lost your job and/or your kids' behavior is getting worse. Why? Why do things get difficult during this social distancing time? Becuase we are social beings! We need socialization t...o find happiness. Not to mention routines. Does anyone have routines anymore?? There is hope. Even in those moments when you feel there isn't any hope. I encourage you to stop and decide on JUST ONE thing you want to get down or succeed in. JUST ONE We will take it from there. Our follow-up video will air in two days. ***If you want all the goodness from this video in one neat page of show notes (yes its good), let me know below by saying: SHOW NOTES
Yes, it's funny but I also love this. The more us parents can put our phones down and pay attention to our kids during their waking hours the better! I hope we can all wait until our kids are in bed to take care of our "online business". Your kids deserve you and your time!! ... #humpdayhumor #positiveparenting
