All of us at BHNS are hoping our families are doing well while we are closed due to the ongoing battle against COVID-19. We also encourage everyone to continue to play and share their adventures! To that end- we have created a Padlet Page exclusively for our families to stay in touch during this time. A link was sent via email to families to connect. If you need the link to be sent again- please ask! Padlet offers a wonderful way for everyone to share what they’ve been doing at home- Check it out! Stay healthy and play on friends!!

By now most of you have probably heard that County Executive, Ryan McMahon, announced that all schools in Onondaga County will be closed as of 4 pm on Friday 3/20, and remain closed until Tuesday 4/14. (This time frame incorporates the previously scheduled April break week). BHNS will follow this directive, therefore, the last day of school will be Friday 3/20. If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the County before then, our last day of school will be Wednesday 3/18.... If you are concerned about your child potentially being exposed before Friday, and choose to keep them at home, just let us know. In addition, we are asking that families use more caution than usual in deciding to send children to school. According to the CDC guidelines parents should 'Keep your child home from school with any illness' (https://www.cdc.gov//comm/schools-childcare/checklist.html). This means if your child has a cough or runny nose even without a fever they need to stay home. Our entire BHNS/Jowonio staff have been in communication and are closely monitoring the situation. The BHNS Board of Directors will meet Monday evening to discuss any potential actions needed in response to this closing. This is an unprecedented event so we are piecing together our best response as we gather more information. Please, continue to monitor Facebook and email for any updates as things are changing rapidly. Also- if you are planning to keep your child home during this week- please let us know. Thank you for your continued patience and support! Kathy
