Beyond F.C. 10.10.2021

While the BFC Women's team has had a challenging start to their spring season with more than a few tough games, the women began to turn it around with a 4-2 win against Appletown on Sunday. First on the score board was Emma Delisio who smartly chipped the goalie after receiving a wonderfully weighted through ball from Raquel Gutierrez. Gihane Quintana helped the women bring home the W with a PK and a beautifully struck shot from a well-placed layoff from Kianoosh Hashemzadeh. Raquel also got on the scoring sheet with her own nicely struck shot off an assist from Gihane. The women left the pitch feeling like the hours of possession games in practice were finally paying off after all run-of-play goals were the result of solid combination play.

Hey Beyond Family, As some of you know, I have recently been volunteering with the US Soccer Foundation. They are the charitable branch of US Soccer. Specifically, I have been assisting with their after school sports initiative. Some of you might be aware of these sorts of programs but, essentially they provide a safe place for underprivileged kids to go after school. The benefits of these programs are myriad: kids stay out of trouble, make friends, and stay healthy through p...laying soccer and lessons on proper nutrition. I've personally attended the after-school sessions in downtown Manhattan and can attest that the kids love the program. All of us have benefited from soccer in some way -- either as a way to make friends in a new city, a way to stay fit, or just a way to have fun. That's why I think this organization is so great; it's an opportunity to give kids the chance to benefit from soccer as well. If you are able, please consider donating to the US Soccer Foundations Play It Forward campaign with this LINK: https://donate.ussoccerfoundation.org/ZKPlayItForward I've set the initial fundraising goal at $1,000, which is enough to provide two teams of kids with player kits and field equipment. I'm reaching out to Beyond FC first because I know you guys (and gals) will have the most personal connection to this sort of program. Consider how you've benefited from soccer and how it will be great for the next generation to benefit as well. Literally any donation, no matter how small, will help. Even if we raise just $25 that provides a jersey, shin guards, socks, and a ball to a kid who will appreciate the chance to play soccer after school. Thanks for your time. All the best, Zach, Beyond FC First Team Player.
