Last night’s storms had the fish in a bit of a negative mood this morning, but Dave and Dave were able to scratch out a few nice specimens, and had a handful of heartbreakers. All in all, a decent morning of jigging with some great guys!

Yesterday, First Mate Leslie Bomysoad and I fished in the 4th Annual Barney Baldwin Memorial Tournament. Fishing was tough, and we lost a few heartbreakers, but eventually Leslie was able to get a 10 lb 13 oz laker to the net, and it went for a free boat ride to the scales. Her fish eventually got bumped to second place, but was still a great fish! We covered a lot of water, and it paid off.

Some days you can’t do anything right, some days you can’t do anything wrong. Today was about as close to do no wrong as it gets. Dan, Collin and I pushed off the dock at 6:30 and set up on the troll. By 8:30, the guys had boated 6 fish, and asked to pull out the jigging sticks. By 11:30, 8 more fish made it to the boat, and at least that many came unglued. We enjoyed a wide open bite all morning. Excellent day of fishing on Cayuga!

Last week the lake was in rough shape between the warm temps, algae bloom, floating weeds and water fleas. After Thursday’s big blow, I was optimistic that the lake would be in better condition this weekend, and boy was it ever. James and Tyler enjoyed a steady pick of Lake Trout and a nice Rainbow Trout to round out their box. Glad the lake is set back up properly!

Beautiful evening on the lake with Laurie and John tonight. Floating weeds made it tough to keep clean baits in the water, and the dreaded fleas made their first appearance of the season. Despite the conditions, we still put together a nice 6 fish box, and had some good laughs!
