September through November can be a fantastic time to target Fall Walleye! While we concentrate on just Walleye in this TEASER, know that anglers can encounter Huge Bass, Pike and Pickerel while on these trips...... Capt. B3 and Frank Kohlbach work a double on "Eyes" as Frank's son Parker handles the video duties. The Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario is one of the BEST places in the world to target "Trophy Walleye"! Book this trip by calling 315-771-3514.

The months of May and June are tremendous times to target Steelhead in offshore waters! Downrigging spoons, fishing sliders and employing Planer Board techniques are all viable options! In this "Teaser Video", I am joined by my youngest daughter "Rocky" as she snuffs out a pair of great Steelies...... While we concentrate on Steelhead in this video, we do take 4 different species including King Salmon, Lake Trout and Brown Trout along with the Steelhead. This is Dynamic fishing for sure! Call us for booking and we will custom tailor a fishing adventure for you!

It looks like we have some cooler temps coming, but moderating temps and rain will keep the bite sequestered to the inland lakes and the St. LAWRENCE RIVER region (at least through the weekend). A bit of slush building on LOTI but ice remained 6 to 8" in all the areas we drilled. You can no longer visibly see open water however that region still has to be punky (we just haven't had the temps to lock things up tight) If you are working to the left and out off DeWolf Point- ...don't assume you are on good ice!!!!! (especially with the coming forecast). Some reasonable reports from Eel, Goose and Chippewa! Our pal Will Cole checking in from Eel where there was lots of action on smaller Perch. Will had some Jumbos but had to work for them! They did handle some nice Pike so that's a viable option as well! We also saw some great pics of anglers hitting Black Lake! It looks like the CRAPPIE action is unfolding up there. On LOTI the tip-down bite was critical to success yesterday! Watch our live feed from yesterday...... We show the Emerald Shiners that make the difference!!! These are graded out specifically for tip-downs (Chaumont Bait & Hardware). Tell them you are fishing tip-downs and they will set you up! The jig bite was horrible early (at least for us) but tip-down action kept us busy. At 11:30, a wave of fish crossed our flat and it was "Game On". CATY JIG RODENTS on the bottom with HACKLED TEAR DROPS & HACKLE ANTS 10-12" inches above. Everything was tipped with Mousies or Spikes. The rods rigged with SOCO BAIT'S "HAMMERHEAD" soft plastic was a big producer on the GILL'S that we took. We are still fishing the translucent pink (the only color we have right now) and that has been solid! I did experiment with some NEW GEAR yesterday! STH (aka Set The Hook) is a satellite of Freedom Tackle. They have a dandy soft plastic called a "Shrimp Maggot" that the Perch and Gills hammered! I have to admit......I was never much for soft plastics but our buddy Mark Hare has beaten them into me? You have to live with them for a while as it's a different feel (finesse fishing) but once you pick it up it's a GREAT TOOL to have in your bag of tricks! Chartreuse and White SHRIMP MAGGOTS were both good! This set up produced some HOG PERCH and a pile of dandy GILLS! Thank you to Will Cole, Frank Howard, Mark Hare, Frank Kohlbach, Bobby Helms and Cam Hasner for keeping us in the loop as they branch out to fish different areas! Helen, Guy and Rosie......Great job and lots of fun!

Duty called yesterday but Team Members Mark Hare and Bob Helms kept the intel flowing..... Mark, loading up on Gills with a few Perch mixed in. Bob, introducing some boys to the hard water. The Perch bite started at 9am up north, with tip-downs and jigging securing the fish. Quite a few Walleye being taken as well but most were sub legal. The advanced forecast shows some colder nights after Wednesday. This should add ice in current locations and hopefully start to skim some of the more traditional haunts.

Capt B3 and Bob Helms with a mix of Kings, Steelhead and Lakers! 2020' was an awesome year for dandy Steelhead! These fish are a treat and a great addition to a nice run on Kings. Bobby started his fishing career with the Saiff Fleet at the ripe old age of 5 yrs. I still have pictures of him on his 1st trip with us. It's incredible to see these individuals flourish as fishermen and now assist us on the back deck of the fleet! Bob is a smart, hard working and conscientious fisherman..........He is also an expert on scooping Walleye from the fabled waters of Tupper Lake.

We had to do a bit of moving today.......Mark Hare and Tom Tucker doing pretty well with tiny Tungsten Jigs and lead headed jigs with tiny soft plastics. I stayed with a Bibbit and a Slim Bibbit tipped with spikes. Lots of little fish that just couldn't get my bigger jigs in their mouths. If I had to work the river tomorrow, I would probably fish tiny Tungsten Jigs or the smallest Jigging Rap I could find. A double rig of Maramooska jigs would also be perfect. Anglers co...uld tip these with Spikes or SOCO BAIT'S "Maggots" (available in a wide variety of colors) or their "Ice Pick"...... If you are fishing a lead head Crappie Jig (round head), SOCO's "Hammerhead" soft plastic would be perfect! That was an exact representation of what Mark Hare was using to dial in the Bluegill! We fished just a few tip-downs today because we wanted to be mobile. I would load up on these for future endeavors - double drilling my most productive holes so that I could quickly jig over the top of a HOT BITE! PERCH FEST IS COMING SOON! The day when all our Captains and Mates hit the water together! The boys are dialing in their hottest PERCH PATTERNS and we will be bringing you the action in video form! I plan on walking the ice with our cameras to show you what they are using and hopefully highlight some great Eastern Basin fishing! See more

Fishing the "Upper Water Column" for all the species is an absolute hoot!!!! Browns, Steelhead, Lakers and Kings are all located in the top 50ft. of water from Mid-May through Late June each year. This is an optimal time to use "High Speed" techniques to connect on a wide variety of Cold Water Species. Here are a few pics from that time frame last season! Book this adventure for 2021' Stay at the WESTVIEW LODGE in Henderson Harbor and fish with the Saiff Charter Fleet! 315-771-3514.

Some great video today on Oneida Lake as we highlighted "Snap Weights", "Brad's Lip Stix Minnows", "Small Board Set Ups" & "Flicker Minnows"........Check this out.......a 23", 24" and 25" inch WALLEYE in the creel today (some incredibly big fish) as we picked our way to another limit! We tried to fire fish on spoons and garden hackles but that bite never occurred? My guess is that the water is getting too cold for a good worm bite. Thanks Brian Swartz and Mike Howard for a GREAT JOB TODAY! We stole another one from MOTHER NATURE!

Bill Saiff Outdoors 29.10.2020

Dinosaur LAKE TROUT are a specialty of the BSO TEAM!!!! We can target GIANT LAKERS throughout the season but late May through early July is especially good! This season we filmed a great video called "Fishing for Dinosaur Lakers" in June. We targeted these big fish with "PRO KING MAGNUM SPOONS" in 60 to 90 ft. of water!!! This is an exciting trip that we recommend for anyone looking to connect on this GIANT member of the Char family! Watch this action firsthand on our YouTube Channel at Bill Saiff Outdoors. Please subscribe to the Bill Saiff Outdoors Channel then you will get notified every time we put up a NEW VIDEO (there are a bunch coming your way)! To book this trip, call us at 315-771-3514. We can also create a CHRISTMAS GIFT CERTIFICATE for you. Tight Lines..... Capt. B3

A solid WALLEYE BITE on Oneida today as B. SWARTZ and members of the Saiff Charter Team ventured into different waters. It took us a bit to find the fish but once we did action was steady! Bay Rat Long Deeps in natural colors and Pink got the draw. We worked the 30-34 ft contour with 180-200 ft sets. Flickers also produced with snap weights in the 2oz. range. These sets were 50ft., snap weight and then another 50ft. for a total of 100ft. We took a nice mix of larger fish that were attracted to the larger baits! The top fish was pushing 23" inches! Different from our normal stomping grounds but incredible just the same! Oneida fishermen.......you have a JEWEL!

Over the last couple days I have been speaking w/ my buddy Tom Tucker and some of our counterparts in Michigan & Wisconsin.......... All the chit chat got me thinking about walking the ice......... This CLASSIC BEAD SPOON VIDEO highlights the Chaumont Bay Beat Down like no other! Some NEW "Slab Grabbers" and "Ken's" spoons are headed this way! Please Subscribe to the Bill Saiff Outdoors YouTube Channel. We would like to reach 4,000 subscribers by February. Thanks for your help..... Capt. B3

B Swartz scoring on a cold water GIANT! We got the footage and it will blow you away! Plucked him out of 17ft on an inside board. This LAKER took 150ft. on the strike. Of course- he fell off in the net! UV BLUE DOLPHIN STINGRAY did the damage on this guy. A huge Male caught and released!!!! Even the Ole' Capt. got excited on this one!
