Our Spring checklist has moved outside; why not when it’s almost 70 out right? We are working on curtain maintainence today. The curtains go up and down, allowing for the cows to be comfortable during the summer heat.

Spring had arrived right on schedule in Northern New York and our calves are just as excited about this as us! We found this little Jersey sunning herself in the morning sun, dreaming of the warmer days to come...well until she heard the noise of those snapping pictures.

Spring is here (almost) and we started our Spring maintenance checklist in the barns before we head to the fields. Maintaining the fans and lights in the milking cow barn was at the top of the list. While up in the air we got some really neat pictures!

Today is Employee Appreciation Day! At Bilow Farms, we aim to show appreciation for our employees every single day. There are several roles to fill on the farm from working in the fields, to feeding the calves, milking the cows and everything in between. Each of our employees plays an important part in the success of the farm business and today we say thank you for all you do each and every day!

We received all of these yesterday! When we see the seed arrive we start thinking Spring!

We have two babies that feel the same way as most of us...they don’t want to come out of their house after a big storm. We are spending the morning digging out hutches and plowing driveways.

The lights are ready. A HUGE thanks to our own Clark Griswold’s working in the shop. We hope it brings some holiday cheer as we close out 2020.

We’ve had a lot going on in the shop, but not our usual repairs.

Here’s the next step in the combining process. We bring the corn back to the farm and grind it. This will be used in the girls unique recipes at feeding time.

The holiday season is upon us. We will begin our light display in the coming days and our latest newlestter will be going to printing soon! We also received a new order of stickers and want to give them out to our followers! The first 25 people to comment will receive three (one large and two small) in the coming weeks!

October 12th is one of our favorite days of the year. It's a day we celebrate the boots on the ground who help feed the world, a day we celebrate and thank our farmers. Happy National Farmer’s Days!

Around 10:30 this morning our last load of corn silage was dumped on the pile. From there we finished packing it and proceeded to cover it with tires. Up next, trying out the new combine!

If you’ve drove by the farm at all over the last few weeks you would have noticed this pile of cow chow growing! We have around 35,000 tons of feed ready for the ladies with a goal of 40,000 tons when we finish up corn next week. A huge thanks to everyone who is helping cover the majority of this massive pile today!

The clouds were quite a sight last night. The first was taken as you come down the hill and the second from the corn pile.

A HUGE thanks to Trever Giroux for making this video for us. It’s quite the view to see the equipment running on the ground, but an even more amazing one from the sky!

Foggy Thursday sunrise. The mornings are starting to feel like fall and it will surely will tomorrow because we are 24 hours from starting corn chopping!
