Khalifa International Stadium hosted the final match of the FIFA Club World Cup, with Liverpool FC taking home the championships. Birdair, Inc. with its sister companies and headquarters, participated in the delivery of the PTFE tensile roofing, insulated tensile roofing TENSOTHERM, and ETFE film.

World Athletics Championships (IAAF Doha 2019) is ongoing at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar; the first host country in the Middle East. 24 different events will be held during the 10 day period. Originally completed in 1976, Khalifa International Stadium underwent massive renovations in 2017. Taiyo Middle East was contracted for the design, fabrication, supply, and installation of the membrane roofing system, which combined the use of PTFE fiberglass membrane,... single layer ETFE film and Tensotherm a translucent insulated membrane. Birdair, Inc. provided the design, fabrication, and supply of all three membranes. The stadium is set to serve as one of the host venues for the 2020 FIFA World Cup (DOHA 2022).
