On April 17, 1955, Mr. Roberto Clemente made his major league debut as a Pittsburgh Pirate. Seventeen years later, on September 30, 1972, Mr. Clemente got his ...3000th hit. He never came to bat again in the regular season. On December 31, 1972, Mr. Clemente took off on a humanitarian effort to help the earthquake victims of Nicaragua. Shortly after taking off, his plane crashed into the ocean. His body was never recovered. He was 33 years old. Inspired by a dream, on December 31, 2005, I reenacted and completed Mr. Roberto Clemente's failed mission and did delivered the promised aid to Nicaragua-- 33 years after his death. On April 17, 2021, to celebrate Mr. Clemente's 66th anniversary of his major league debut, a screenplay telling my experience working on the Clemente project was registered with the Screenwriter Guild of America East.
