It's *almost* spring. Things outside are starting to live up to the season's name. This is our Orangery, where more tropical plants would be overwintered in the 19th century. Plenty of light, plenty of warmth. Just what we all need. Come visit us any Saturday this month. We're open for outdoor admissions to our 68 acres with unrivaled views of the Hudson River, Constitution Marsh, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the mountains beyond from 10:00am-6:00pm. Advance... reservations for two-hour time slots available (and required) via https://boscobel.org/events/gardens-and-grounds-admission/ by Kimberley Mazzuca #boscobel #boscobelhg #museum #hudsonvalley #hudsonriver #orangery #spring #springtime #herbgarden

Happy Daylight Savings Time! Here is Collections Manager Kasey Calnan winding our tall case clock. It's a beautiful, though much more elaborate ritual than many of us will perform on our self-updating digital devices today. If you'd like to learn more about our tall case clock, join us on Saturday, April 10 from 10:00-10:30am for our Bring the Kids! virtual museum tour through time with our museum educator, Lisa DiMarzo (aka Miss Lisa). ... Each month we take a closeup look at a collection object and uncover treasures of the past. In April, it's this clock! The live Zoom presentation will be followed by questions and comments from the audience. Online registration required via https://boscobel.org//bring-the-kids-celebrate-boscobels-/ We hope to see you there! #daylightsavings #clock #springforward #boscobel #boscobelhg #kidsactivities #kids #collection #museumcollection #museumtour #decorativearts #daylightsavingstime

#throwbackthursday Boscobel’s spring house in its original location in Monrose, New York. These photos are from 1960, after a VA hospital had been built on the site. A VA building is visible in the background of one of them. donated by Doreen Cozzi Busse and Wayne Busse in honor of Umberto Cozzi, who was the stone mason hired to disassemble the spring house in Montrose and rebuild it on the Boscobel site in Garrison. The last photo shows it there today.... #throwbackthursday #boscobel #boscobelhg #hudsonvalley
