A chilly hello from Brewerton Boatyard! We are opened for business and our Winter Hours are now in effect: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday - Closed for the Winter... I wanted to share some exciting improvements in the works this Winter... Phase two of our seawall project is already underway and will be completed before April 1st. This is a major improvement consisting of both a new seawall and concrete sidewalks on the East end of the marina. We're also putting new two-tone siding on both our Ships Store and Shop. We're even doing an interior spruce up in the Ships Store! I'll be posting pictures on our Facebook page to keep you up to date on our progress throughout the Winter. The Great Loop and then some! Meet Ken & Ellen Allington, owners of the Kadey - Krogen Manatee Trawler Auk. The Auk is powered by the original Volvo Penta TAMD30 Diesel cruising at 6 Knots, though Ellen assures me that they can top 8 Knots if the tide is in their favor! The Auk burns an extremely economical 1 gallon per hour at cruising speed. Ken, Ellen and their Yellow Lab Rosie traveled from Key Largo, Florida, round trip on their first Great Loop circuit, and have t...raveled the bulk of the Great Loop twice, including the Northern Route through Canada’s Georgian Bay. They’ve also taken the Auk on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway all the way to Nashville. Ken and Ellen have traveled a total of 17,000 miles thus far, with their Yellow Lab Rosie on every mile of the journey. The Auk regularly winters here at Brewerton Boatyard where she has undergone a signifcant bottom restoration as well as routine maintenance during the winter months. See more
