#BRICKBite It's that time of year again! 2015 is about to be done and the new year gives a lot of us the opportunity to assess where we're at and where we want to be. Take these tips in mind when planning what you want to do. 1 Make a list of everything you want. Just get it all out there. 2 Pick your top 3 (you can save the rest of the list for later in the year). 3 Come up with an action plan. What steps do you need to take to make that happen?... When coming up with your action plan make it... SPECIFIC Get down to the nitty gritty of what you're going to do. Get as specific as possible. MEASURABLE When will you know if you've achieved it? Set something so when you finish you know without a doubt that you're done. ACHIEVABLE and REALISTIC I've had so many clients who say they want to lose an extreme amount of pounds in a few months. My answer? No. Choose something that is reasonable to achieve. TIME-SENSITIVE It's better to go for smaller goals that you can achieve in 4-6 weeks rather than big goals that you won't achieve until 6 months from now. Make your goals SMART, pick your top 3, and get after it! Sherry has been with the BRICK New York team since the beginning and we’re looking forward to having her with us on the next step in the journey. Q. What did you eat for breakfast today? A. I’ve got a go-to rotation of homemade #paleo pancakes, super omelette, and a mega-superfood non-dairy protein-packed smoothie.... Q. Where did you grow up? A. I grew up around a few military bases in Germany, S. Korea, Hawaii, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Virginia, and Kansas. Q. What's your biggest CrossFit "goat?" A. Hahahaeverything! Q. Besides CrossFit, how do you enjoy spending your time? A. I love reading, researching, and relaxing. I have plans to take a dance class one of these dayshoping my body remembers how to move without a barbell in hand. Q. What's something people would be surprised to hear about you? A. There’s a semi-nude sculpture of me in someone’s home.

#FBF to BRICK's 1st CrossFit Games appearance. BRICK returned to the Games in 2014 with 2 teams and 1 individual. This year, BRICK Grand Central coach and athlete, Chelsey Hughes will head to Regionals after taking the #1 spot in the NorthEast Open. We’re stoked to announce that CrossFit Games athlete and Brick CrossFit alum, Chelsey Hughes, will be joining the Brick Grand Central staff! Get to know Chelsey! Q. What did you eat for breakfast today?... A. My favorite breakfast option from Kettlebell Kitchen Huevos Rancheros! It’s a yummy mix of eggs, ground sausage, and sweet potato. Q. Where did you grow up? A. On a ranch in Texas Q. What’s your favorite memory from last year’s CrossFit Games? A. The thrill of going rep for rep battling it out for 1st in the Frantasy Land event was momentous for our team. After that event we began to realize we truly deserved to compete for a podium spot. It was a fun twist on traditional CrossFit and exciting to perform. Q. What’s your biggest CrossFit goat? A. I dislike deadlifts. Possibly one of the simplest movements, but I find them boring and bothersome. Q. Besides CrossFit, how do you enjoy spending your time? A. When you are pursuing a dream of this size, there is very little ‘free time’. I love to be outside and explore, to walk around the city and stumble upon fun new places. Q. What’s something people would be surprised to hear about you? A. I studied sports business in graduate school. I couldn’t imagine a career more perfectly suited for my passions and goals!
