Cheryl’s TBI story is a little different than most because she was born with a brain injury waiting to happen (an AVM or Arterial Ventral Malformation). As Cheryl says, a TBI is not the end of your life, it is just a new beginning! #bridgesforbraininjury #tbiawarenessmonth #tbisurvivor

Yesterday, our Day Program Members were able to create Dream Pillows thanks to Deb at Shimmering Light Farm & Renewal Center! Deb brought in special herbs from the farm and discussed how each herb can contribute to sleep! We all know how important sleep is and with Daylight Savings Time upon us this weekend, we are all going to need all the help with sleep we can get!
Did you know there are 2 types of brain injuries?! Non-Traumatic Brain Injury, or Acquired Brain Injury, cause damage to the brain by internal factors (lack of oxygen, exposure to toxins, etc.) Traumatic Brain Injuries are caused by an external force, either from an impact to the head or inertial forces affecting the brain.... #bridgesforbraininjury #tbiawareness #BrainInjuryAwarenessMonth
A special shout-out to Rebekah Harter for teaching our members how to make homemade ice cream yesterday! Even though its a little chilly out right now, they seemed to enjoy their cold treats!
