Our 2021 resolution: bringing anti-racism dialogues to community gardens. As gathering spaces that, in many cases, are in communities of color that have endured historic disinvestment, environmental degradation, and gentrification, community gardens can serve as a vital forum for discussing issues of race and for finding a path forward. We need your help for this project, which includes working with anti-racism activist and artist Elizabeth Rossi to develop workshops and tr...aining sessions across our gardens next year. To help fund this urgent programming, contribute to our #BrooklynGives campaign via the link in our profile and, as always, thank you! The realization that food comes from the earth can be a revelation for young people. We need materials to build raised beds. We want to raise crops to give to the community. This space could give structure to people living in shelters.... These were statements of hope from a meeting this fall among neighbors at Ralph-Lincoln Community Garden in east Crown Heights, which has fallen into disrepair and is in need of significant investment. In 2021, we’re committing to rebuilding this garden, but we need your help. Will you help us in the final hours of 2020 by contributing to our #BrooklynGives campaign? https://www.brooklyngives.org//brooklyn-queens-land-trust- #communitygardens #crownheights #brooklyn #bqlt #brooklynqueenslandtrust
