Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade

Following the decision of NY state and government officials to curtail large gatherings within the city out of concern for the potential community spread of COVID-19, and in concert with the decision of the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee to postpone the 258th NYC Parade, the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee regretfully announces the postponement of this year’s parade, scheduled for March 22, 2020. The Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of ...the community’s most anticipated, celebrated and beloved traditions. While this decision will be disappointing to our many supporters, minimizing the potential for COVID-19 community spread must be our top goal. The health and safety of Bay Ridge’s residents and parade participants will always be our highest priority, and like many other cities across the nation and globe, postponing this year’s parade as a precautionary measure was clearly a difficult but justified decision. The Committee will work with city agencies to reschedule the parade at an appropriate date sometime in the future. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to work tirelessly to bring our 2020 Parade to you just as soon as it is reasonable and safe to do so. In the meantime, please do all you can to remain healthy so we can eventually meet you along the parade route! And please don’t forget to support our many sponsors and parade headquarters in the interim! Remember to take a moment to reflect upon the greater sacrifices our Irish forbearers endured and survived to bring us to this worrisome moment. May their past tenacity serve as our modern day inspiration and a continued source of strength.
