In these uncertain times the best thing you can do is be prepared. If you become ill are you and your family protected? 1. Do you have a health care proxy? This will allow your designated person to make any medical decisions that are necessary while you are still living, but unable to make medical decisions. 2. Do you have a power of attorney? This document allows your designated person to make all financial decisions for you, if you are living, but unable to make financial ...decisions. This is especially important in paying your bills and making sure your family has access to money for essentials. 3. Do you have a will? This is so important. In the event that you pass who is going to take care of your children? Who will get your home? Are your assets protected? I made the mistake of not having the proper protections for my family 6 years ago today. Please don’t make the same mistake. According to the Oswego County District Attorney's Office all pending criminal cases as well as vehicle and traffic cases have been adjourned to at least May 1, 2020. The criminal courts will only be holding arraignments on serious felonies, sex offenses and domestic violence cases. This includes and pleas and sentencings. Once courts reopen you will receive notice of when your new court date will be. In the meantime if you do receive any vehicle and traffic tickets or appe...arance tickets, remember you can email, scan or make an appointment to drop them off to me.
