Bella, a 3 yr old spayed female is a beautiful, sweet 60 LB hound/pitbull/cur mix. She loves to be pet and will lick your face off if you let her. Bella is an athletic girl, jumping around when excited, then settling to play with stuffed toys that squeak or a bone. Strongly motivated by food, she's learned sit, down and stay. Bella walks well with a special collar as she shows her strength when she sometimes lunges. She loves to play with her 75 LB foster sister. Bella is crate trained. 276. We have saved 276 special dogs this year. Financially, 2020 has been a hard year for the Underdogs. We have heartworm treated 8 dogs. And 8 more are currently being treated in Texas. This *week* alone, we have spent $10,000 on medical bills, saving Parvo puppies. This month, we have spent $5,000 on just transport. We have had two special dogs that were hit by cars and needed amputations to save their lives. ... We tagged a very special dog to give him hospice care before he passed. And we help the pups that need us most- the mangy pitty puppies, the puppies thrown away like they were trash, the ones that need more care. The special stories of our Underdogs go on and on .... 2020 has been a hard year. But. We’ll rise up, and do it a thousand times again. Because the Underdogs deserve their chance. Adoption Announcement Remember Lucky? The poor guy that was hit by a car, leg shattered, had his front leg amputated all while having no one to call his own in Texas? Well look at him now. He has hit the jackpot of all jackpots with his furever home! His foster family knew he was meant to be with them, so this is the happiest foster fail ever. A huge thank you to Lucky's foster family both here and in Texas. This incredible boy was Lucky in so many ways....happy life buddy

Hello New York, my name is Electra I'm a 3 month old hound/cur mix and one lucky puppy! Why? I was rescued by the amazing Buffalo Underdogs that's why! So here's a little about myself. I love to play with my squeaky toys, squeaky ball, or rope, follow my foster mom everywhere she goes and snuggle in her lap every chance I get. My foster sister and I are still working on playing together nicely. I like her but she's an older cat and I get a little to excited for her sometim...es. My foster mom says I'm a sweet girl but I can be a stinker sometimes too. I'm learning to go outside to go potty but I still have accidents. I know how to sit and working on shaking and down. On this Teamwork Tuesday we’d like to give a big shout out to our friends at SweetPups Rescue and Sanctuary. During this time of uncertainty, we have not been able to do our own transports. This amazing rescue located in Texas has helped with boarding some of our dogs undergoing heartworm treatment and transporting them up to Buffalo. We know when our dogs are in their care, they are safe and get all the love and attention they need. They safely brought us our 31 amazing Underdogs this past weekend, including Mama Lily, who they saw though her heartworm treatment. We cannot ever express how grateful we are to be saving Underdogs with them It takes a village to rescue and we are so lucky to have them in ours!

From locked in a trailer and abandoned, to being loved and cherished members of a family Silas and Celeste will only know love and kindness for the rest of their days. Big thank you to their foster family for opening their home and hearts to these two big pups And congratulations to their new forever families. We could tell both pups were home immediately. Happy lives, Silas and Celeste!

BUR has tagged him and he is getting the care he needs. Surgery is tomorrow morning and he will be spending the night at the vet send good thoughts his way.

There is no doubt in our minds where these Underdogs belong Mama Matilda, found pregnant and abandoned, living outside ... gave birth to her ten beautiful babies at the shelter the day of the hurricane. Levi, hit by a car and found on the side of the road by a kind soul who brought him to the vet. Grace, a deaf pup who was being shot at with BBs. ... Mama Lily, who took care of her babies and then needed to heal and undergo treatment for heartworm. Cinder, who was dumped at the airport and living there for weeks before a foster saved her. And so many abandoned and thrown away puppies who never knew love or kindness before they entered the shelter and came to BUR. They will only feel love from now on thank you for helping us help them. This transport alone cost over $5,000. Every dollar you donate goes directly to our dogs and helps us save more welcome to your new lives, Underdogs!

31 special souls were saved yesterday. 31 underdogs that would have been overlooked, left behind and never even given a chance . We had a very special mama dog and her pups on board, that were once homeless and wandering the streets of Texas...they are all safe . On board we also had a pup that is deaf and was used as target practice...she is now safe and begins her new life . On board we had a very special underdog that was hit by a car and was found by a Good Samari...tan and taken to the vet ... no one came to claim him, no person was there to see him through his pretty serious injury. He is now safe and learning he will never be alone again . All of our underdogs have a story, have a meaning, and have a special place in our rescue and we couldn't be more proud to be a part of that story .
