The Battery Park City Authority has produced a fine educational piece on Mother Cabrini's life to go along with the new statue in Manhattan. The statue is thought out and designed beautifully. In addition to the figures in the paper boat, the base contains panels describing Mother Cabrini's life, and the stones in the pavement were brought from her home town in Italy. The Shrine continues to seek ways to help our friends and neighbors find peace in the midst of many stresses. Beginning October 14 we will extend our hours on Wednesday evenings to provide a quiet, candle-lit time for private prayer and reflection. A local musician will provide meditative instrumental music from 6-7pm. Visitors may, if they wish, check cell phones at the door. This is not a concert, just a time and space for serenity in the midst of difficult times. Please st...op by, if you're able. Social distancing and facemasks are required in the Shrine. Congratulations to Colorado on the first ever Cabrini Day! Celebrate the first Monday in October by being kind, caring, and faithful in honor of Mother Cabrini.

Earlier this year, Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed into law Frances Xavier Cabrini House Bill 20-1031, establishing Frances Xavier Cabrini Day as a Colorad...o State Holiday. The first paid state holiday in the nation that recognizes a woman, Cabrini Day will be observed in Colorado annually on the first Monday in October. (October 5, 2020) We are proud to honor the life and legacy of our beloved St. Frances Xavier Cabrini!
